We support high-potential Managers on their career progression journey to executive level with technical and business skill sets. Both the Public and Private sectors are required to appoint African CIO’s. The Programme starts with the identification of suitably qualified, aspirant black candidates in mid-level CIO positions. We select, vet and submit suitable candidates for selection by prospective employers. Successful applicants are mentored by experienced CIO’s provided under the auspices of the programme. They are progressively trained and coached into the role of respected advisors on strategy to the executive management team. Some challenges often faced by individuals selected for fast tracking to executive positions in ICT include:

  • Understanding corporate strategy and the links to the IT strategic roadmap
  • The role of IT and impact on the corporate digital journey within the company
  • Rapport with non-IT peers and executives
  • Leadership of high-performance teams
  • Integration of work/life balance
  • Finding a safe environment for developing interpersonal skills, e.g. conflict resolution, effective human communication, persuasion/negotiation, emotional intelligence, appropriate levels of self-esteem
